Allentown, Pa. (January 30, 2020) – Communities In Schools of the Lehigh Valley (CIS) is pleased to announce it has appointed Maria Esposito as the not-for-profit’s Vice President of Advancement. In her role, Esposito will lead strategies that connect donors and supporters to the CIS mission across the Lehigh Valley and Berks County. Esposito joins Brittany Pierzga, Director of Advancement & Communication, who started with CIS in 2017. The team will be responsible for generating sustainable funding and increased awareness of CIS, which anticipates serving nearly 40 schools in the 2020-2021 school year.
A native of Northeastern PA and a graduate of DeSales University, Esposito has a long career in not-for-profit management, striving to make organizations and communities better than how she found them.
To that end, Esposito has extensive experience working with local and national not-for-profit organizations, having held positions such as President/CEO of the Farming Hills Chamber of Commerce in Michigan; Vice President of Marketing & Communications at the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties in Washington DC, Associate Dean of Institutional Advancement at Lehigh Carbon Community College, and most recently Vice President for Advancement at PBS39.

CIS is also pleased to announced the election of Kristie L. Beitler, Esq. as chair of the Board of Directors of Communities In Schools of the Lehigh Valley. Beitler, an attorney at Mosebach, Funt, Dayton & Duckworth, P.C. will serve a one-year term as chair of the 15-member board, which is responsible for the governance of the not-for-profit organization. Beitler, who has served on the board since 2014, will be joined by the following officers in 2020: Vice Chair: Adam Morse, PPL; Secretary: John Hart, Council Member Emmaus Burough; Treasurer: Michael Zile, BB&T.
